Rochefort Abbey originated in the thirteenth century and is found in the heart of Notre Dame de Saint Rémy. It produces three beers designated as Trappistes beers. The oldest of three Trappistes Rochefort beers, No. 6, has a reddish colour, a soft body and a deep malty raisin taste. As with all other Trappist breweries, the beer is only sold in order to support the monastery financially and fund some other charitable causes. Go on, support a good cause!
