A classic Australian marriage of two noble varieties and two great wine regions, Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon and Barossa Shiraz. It brings together the linear elegance, firm tannins and persistent structure of Cabernet Sauvignon with the voluptuous, textural richness of Shiraz.
The 2015 release of The Caley is a blend of 74% Coonawarra Cabernet and 26% Barossa Shiraz, built to spend many years in the cellar and drink beautifully from release to 2035 and beyond. Both Coonawarra and Barossa vintages were without extremes producing fruit with excellent concentration of colour, flavours, aromatics and tannin.
Yalumba Winemaker and craftsman of The Caley Kevin Glastonbury regards the 2015 as a terrific vintage.

The Loose Dozen
Yalumba 'The Caley' 2015 Cabernet Shiraz 750ml
The Caley 2015 marks the fourth release of this “Super Claret” - the result of our unwavering commitment to the blend of Cabernet Shiraz.
“The vintage was solid, it gave us ripeness, it gave us generosity and richness. Each vintage of The Caley has been different. We are not trying to conjure up the same wine every year, all we do is try to make the best possible wine we can. When you taste The Caley 2015, it’s almost as though the three previous releases are rolled into one. It has the fruit purity and tannin profile of the 2012, the structure of the 2013 and the generosity and approachability of the 2014. The 2015, however, stands alone. It’s a star in its own right and a seriously good Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz.”
The Caley is a wine that is made for longevity, and while its richness will be enjoyed in its youth, its elegance and structure will last for many years in the cellar.
